Being a Brit living in USA, I was pleasantly surprised by Carole B Roman’s book. She really delves into what life would be life for everyday Elizabethans, from bakers to wealthy aristocrats. What I liked best is that she allowed the reader to imagine what their life would be, this would be great as an educational book and I’m keeping this for my future kids. Secondly, there were many well researched facts that I didn’t even know about my home town. For instance, people in those days traveled the Thames in boat taxis, one going West (Westward Ho) and East (Eastwood Ho). There are many tidbits in this book that would make it fascinating for any curious child and adult alike. This book was given to me at a promotional discount for my honest and unbiased review.
